Greenstar-Allentown is a single stream system and a regional container glass sorting facility. This plant sorts glass, mixed together at collection, back out into the three primary colors (flint, amber and green) to sell back to the bottle industry. It contains a quality check optical sorter for non glass such as ceramic, Pyrex and other glass that is not accepted. It also houses a glass bead manufacturing plant that consumes window glass to make very tiny glass beads, which are then put into road paint to give it a reflective quality.
